The Construction Competition Team at Berkeley strives to provide the civil engineering community a hands-on construction management experience. Throughout the fall semester and beginning of the spring semester, industry coaches come to teach members the skills they use in the industry, such as sustainability, site logistics, estimating, and scheduling. Every February, we attend the student competition in Reno, Nevada hosted by the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC). During the 2020 competition, we competed in nine divisions - Design-Build, Commercial, Integrated Project Delivery, Preconstruction, Sustainability, Virtual Design & Construction, Project Management, Heavy Civil, and Mixed Use. Throughout the year, team members also participate in site walks, mentorship from coaches and alumni, and social opportunities. In the end, our goal is to create a community of support for students interested in construction management and create a generation of leaders ready to enter the construction industry.
