Energy, Water, and Food Systems (EWFS) are interconnected with the foundations of modern societies. Their absence or substandard state creates huge societal problems and they fall under the responsibility of civil and environmental engineering. These three systems are also closely analyzed in relation to environmental sustainability.

This course will take a deep dive into the effects, applications, literature, and methods of analysis for energy, water, and food systems. These topics are briefly discussed in courses such as CE11 and CE110, but new information is produced at a rate faster than these courses can keep up with. This course will function as a discussion and provide opportunities for student engagement and presentation.
