AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS
UC Berkeley Student Chapter

Cal Transportation Team aims to serve as an avenue for transportation enthusiasts across all majors to gain practical, hands-on experience in the design and planning of transportation solutions for today’s changing urban landscape. We offer workshops in skills relevant to the transportation industry. Each year we compete in ASCE MidPac, ITE Sandbox, and the Interdistrict Transportation Competition, where we redesign transportation networks to ensure safe, sustainable connectivity for multimodal transport while aligning with municipal strategic plans. These competitions allow members to apply hard and soft skills while developing an atmosphere of collaboration and friendship. The team also serves as UC Berkeley's student chapters of ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) and AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association), two professional development groups in the transportation field. We offer networking events and host speakers from both organizations to learn about transportation career options.
